Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy explains how The Deli by Greenhorns collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information. We only collect what we need to take, make, deliver and invoice your orders, and to stay in touch if you've asked us to.

The Deli by Greenhorns is a trading name of Greenhorns Deli Pty Ltd (ABN 93 695 725 038), 9A/2 Powell St, Osborne Park WA 6017. In this policy, "we", "us" and "The Deli" mean Greenhorns Deli Pty Ltd.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy covers our customers (corporate, event, home and wholesale), people who visit our website or sign up to our emails, and suppliers. It doesn't cover our own staff records.

2.1 Dietary and allergy notes. Allergy and dietary requirements can count as health information. We only collect them when you choose to tell us, and we only use them to prepare and label your order safely.

2.2 Information about other people. If you order for a team or event and tell us about someone else's dietary needs, please make sure they're happy for you to share it. Name the dietary requirement only; you don't need to tell us who it's for.

2.3 Staying anonymous. You can ask us general questions without giving your name. To place an order, we need enough details to deliver and invoice it.

2.4 Unsolicited information. If we receive personal information we didn't ask for and don't need, we'll delete it.

3. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • take, prepare, label and deliver your orders;
  • contact you about your order, including delivery updates and problems;
  • invoice you, take payment and manage your account;
  • answer questions and sort out complaints;
  • keep records we're required to keep for tax and accounting;
  • improve our menu, service and website;
  • send you marketing emails, if you've signed up.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it to make automated decisions about you.

3.1 Marketing emails. We'll only send marketing emails if you've signed up or you're an existing customer who hasn't opted out. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email [email protected]. Unsubscribing won't stop emails about your orders and invoices.

3.2 Cookies. Our website uses cookies to keep your cart and login working and to help us understand how people use the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some parts of the site, like checkout, may not work properly without them.

4. Who we share it with

We only share your information with businesses that help us run The Deli, and only what they need to do their job.

4.1 Overseas disclosure. Some of the services above store information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose established providers with their own security and privacy commitments.

5. Keeping it safe

5.1 Security. We store information in password-protected systems, limit access to the team members who need it, and use providers that encrypt data. Printed order sheets used in the kitchen and on deliveries are shredded or securely disposed of after use.

5.2 How long we keep it. We keep order, invoice and payment records for 5 years, because Australian tax law requires it. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe. Dietary and allergy notes on your account are kept until you ask us to remove them or close your account. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

5.3 If something goes wrong. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll let you know and tell you what to do. Where the law requires it, we'll also notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

6. Your rights and how to reach us

6.1 Seeing and fixing your information. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. You can update most details yourself in your online account. Otherwise, email us and we'll respond within 30 days. It's free, and we'll only refuse if the law allows it, in which case we'll tell you why.

6.2 Complaints. If you think we've mishandled your information, email [email protected] with "Privacy" in the subject line. We'll acknowledge it within 5 Business Days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
